Well, I finally got the booster shot, which was a relief. Base camp has been quiet but OK, I helped a really enthusiastic lecturer called Peter who is here to supervise two of his students doing research on trees. A gay Canadian called Francis has been giving yoga classes each morning, although he has now left. And best of all, the camp manager Joe retired last night so to celebrate we had a barbecue with real meat.Tomorrow I will be going down to the Buenos Aires camp to start on the large mammal transects and get down to some actual research.
